Taking your painting to the next level in 2019

A 2 or 4 Day Blooms Workshop painting , this one a dempo from me the teacher.

Great paintings not only make the artist feel fantastic, they have the power to raise the well-being of others too.

Stunning cream rose painting from one of my  students
who took my MMFA course after her Bloms Painting Workshop
and learned how to handle complex shapes and colours

Creating an uplift in your environment or the homes of others through art is a great and worthy pursuit you might like to include on your bucket list for 2019!

Rita McKerrell confirmed a deep desire to paint after a lifetime of not having time for it
or having had the opportunity to explore it. She literally was unstoppable after a Blooms 2 day workshop opened her
to the possibilities a short time ago. And now look at her go!
Rita is an emerging star of my Make Money from Art Program having taken her painting to the next level.
This is her original composition; ABUNDANCE 40 x 30 inches

There are so many tips I love to pass on when teaching how to create beautiful blooms.

Here are 11 truths from my Blooms painting world.;

·       1. Cream roses are rarely cream or white when you actually paint them up. They are usually full of colours you wouldn’t dream of mixing and applying.

Teachers example of cream roses

·       2. Lotuses look best when you paint them with their tips of the petals in tact. Like crisply folded napkins they look best when their points are pointy!

·       3. All varieties of flowers have their own distinctive personality traits you will want to capture.
Peonies are the most odd of all but if you include all their weird bits instead of cutting them out this is what makes for a special painting

Peonies are full of odd colour combinations and shapes which somehow
when tbey are added up equal magnificence!

·       4. Backgrounds need to stay in the background

·       5. There’s only a small part of painting a rose that is difficult and the rest is easy. The problem occurs when you don’t know which part is which or which to do first.

Your teacher in Mid demo for a painting thatt has taken a total of 35 minutes to get to this part way stage.
Let me show you how!

·       6. Paintings don’t have to take a long time to create to look fantastic. You can create a magnificent painting in just one day. Learn the Blooms Painting Method and change your moind about what is possible!

·       7. You don’t have to paint with a paint brush to create a masterpiece.

·       8. Once I show you how colour travels you will never see the world in the same way.

·       9. Not all shadows are dark and grey. Most are filled with colour.

·       10. If you can paint shapes instead of getting hung up on things you can paint anything

Knowing the secrets to handling the paint and blending colour are key for hydrangeas.
This is my example inspired from  France.
·       11. It’s too early to judge how a painting looks in the middle of the painting. It’s better to wait till the last stages.  So tell your inner critic to get back in it’s box!

After a long spell away from her art being a busy mum, Sarita found time to reconect with her art
at the recent Brisbane  Blooms Painting Workshop

I enjoy teaching the Blooms painting workshops 2 day and 4 day length workshops and seeing the incredible results and happy clients.

It’s a joy to share my knowledge of 30 years with my students and all the secrets of my Blooms Painting Method and to see what it does for others.

Marthe cracked open painting and a big rush of creative energy at the Brisbane Blooms Painting Workshop.
From her texts, I gather she is now painting at full tilt since we finished the workshop just over a week ago!

However, what I love even more when I have the opportunity for those that can do more is to take my students to the next level with more time to give them even more great teaching to create next level paintings.

It’s like having an even more satisfying meal of art as we go next level with detail and developing expertise.

You’ve seen what can happen in 2 days and in four days from the results I post.

Total newbies can create incredible paintings when shown the how to at my Blooms Painting Workshops.

Loretta  had been painting whenever she could at home.
At the Blooms Painting Workshop she learned a structure to place all her creative passion
into that delivered her the resutls she was after. I just loved her distinctive style that came through.

TAKING YOUR PAINTING TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Early next year I have a deluxe art immersion on offer in France where we get to spend 8 full days together in incredibly inspirational surrounds, smack bang in the middle of the stunningly beautiful PEONY season, painting in the heart of the Creuse, staying in authentic and charming French Villas. Sighhhh!

Sheila from New Zealand shares about her Blooms learning experience
at the Brisbane Blooms Painting Workshop

I’m so excited to get even more advanced results for my students for those who want to go further in this special opportunity. And no you don't need to have taken any previous workshops with me to come along to the France Blooms. I can get anyone up and running even if they have never painted before.
